Hey, I’m Maddie
I am the photographer, this is my FIANCÉ Jono, and two cuties Esme (5) Francis (3).
When I’m not working I’m almost definitely with these guys. We love the beach, the Moana and just anything outdoors! We recently relocated to Wellington from the Far North. I have a degree in Education and Physiology, I understand movement, and over the last few years have been able to apply my knowledge to understanding the physiology of birth.
I started Milestone photography a little over two years ago with the encouragement from Jono. I’ve always loved snapping photos, but the why behind it was really discovered and hit home through my grief of losing my Step Dad.
Not just a photographer, a visual storyteller immortalising your memories.
Kind words:
I cannot give Maddie enough stars or recommend her enough. A friend said in passing you should really get some maternity photos done you won't regret it ( even not feeling my very best and something that is probably very out of comfort zone) but we found Maddie and it has been such a great experience. Maddie instantly made me feel relaxed and calm from our first meeting and that transpired through our photo shoot. We have just gotten through our final maternity photos through and I can't stop looking at them.

My Philosophy.
Just a few years ago, my world shattered. The earth beneath my feet was crumbling, and the air I breathed turned heavy with sorrow. My step father, a guiding light, was suddenly gone from this world. In that moment, grief consumed me, wrapping its cold tendrils around my soul.
As I navigated the depths of my own grief, I found solace in the memories captured in photographs. Each image was a precious piece of Andrew's legacy, a testament to a life well-lived.
In those photographs, I saw the power of freezing a moment in time, preserving emotions and stories that might otherwise fade away.
Driven by this revelation, I embarked on a personal journey to honour Andrew's memory and the immense impact he had on my life. It was during this journey that Milestone Photography was born—a journey fuelled by passion, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to telling stories through the lens.
In sharing this story with you, I am baring my soul, allowing you to witness my vulnerability. It is a choice that fills me with trepidation, but one I make wholeheartedly. I want you to understand the essence of Milestone Photography, to know that behind each image captured, there is a story.
Through the lens, I strive to capture not only the milestones that mark our lives but also the raw emotions that accompany them. I want to freeze moments that are etched with laughter, tears, joy, and vulnerability—the very essence of what it means to be human.
So, as I hover between hesitation and conviction, I invite you to see into my world, to bear witness to the power of vulnerability. In doing so, I hope you understand that my passion for photography goes beyond mere aesthetics. It is a way for me to weave stories of the heart, to create lasting memories that celebrate life's triumphs and milestones.
Your story is worth telling, and I am excited to be there, behind the lens, to document the essence of your unique journey, creating images that will be cherished by you and your family for a lifetime.

Birth inspires me
Birth, to me, is a profound and awe-inspiring phenomenon that has become the centre of my passion for photography.
Through the lens, I am not only capturing the physical milestones but also the raw and unfiltered emotions that accompany them, the sheer magnitude of joy, tears, and vulnerability, epitomises the essence of the human experience.
This venture is my way of weaving stories that go beyond aesthetics, creating lasting memories of the moment you first meet your child for you to treasure forever.
