From Porirua home birth to quick Wellington hospital birth!

This family's journey through labour was no exception, showcasing the strength and love that transforms a challenge into a cherished memory.
The planned home birth in Porirua, Wellington, was carefully prepared, with a birthing pool ready, the warmth of their home set, intentions along with positive affirmations lining the wall, family and midwife by their side.
Mama was powerful and determined, progressing through labour with grace and resilience. Smiling and breathing well in between strong contractions. She worked through the contractions, trying different positions and activities to help baby move into the ideal position. After reaching 10 cm, baby had yet to come down, making it clear that this little one had their own plan.

Despite all efforts and incredible support from papa, their midwife, and the entire family, mama began to feel the exhaustion of her efforts. With wisdom and care, the decision was made to head to the hospital for rest and assistance. Though the car ride and hospital walk can be daunting during active labour, it worked wonders for this mama. The movement gave baby the nudge they needed, and within 20 minutes of arriving, she birthed her beautiful baby girl!
Early in the morning, just a few hours later, the family returned home, brimming with joy. There, in the peaceful sanctuary of their home, they introduced their newest addition to their two older boys—an unforgettable milestone filled with love and connection.
